Lustreware exhibit at Frederick County Historical Society

The Allure of Lustreware features two century old pieces on display at the Historical Society of Frederick County through November 26. Curator Christine Stelzer notes mid class access to lustreware and Marshall Etchison’s collection enriches the show with English and British makers like Wedgewood and Staffordshire. The exhibit traces lustreware’s rise with the early 19th century middle class and explains its opalescent glazes and varied decoration from plates to bowls.
