Ficker amendment draws fire from education leaders in Montgomery County
Public school officials and Montgomery College leaders warned that passage of the Ficker amendment would trigger draconian cuts. They projected a $24 million loss in state aid over five years and a $2.5 million county cut, risking tuition hikes, faculty layoffs, and program reductions. They urged voters to oppose Question C at a Bethesda press conference marking Montgomery College's 50th anniversary.
