A weekend of festivals filled Market Street with crowds, parades, races, a treasure hunt, rappelling, and an array of entertainers. The Whop Frazier rhythm and blues set drew cheers near Fourth and North Market as Johnny Long performed on sax. Marbles champs shoot it out in Middletown
In Middletown a crowd watched the First Annual World Ring Master Marbles Championship at the county park runoff for players over 14. The 32-competitor field ranged from Kim Shuttleworth 13 of Pittsburgh the youngest to Annamae Albright 66 of White Marsh the oldest. Jeff Kimmell of Frederick created the event to allow those who cannot enter Wildwood NJ’s National Ringer Marbles Tournament.
