Chicago October 3 Armour and his partners report a profit of 1 850 000 on a September wheat spread covering 15 000 000 bushels in 90 days. Some 2 100 000 bushels were delivered cash at an average price of 72 cents a bushel with 12 cents per bushel profit on the last sale. A New York group holding over 1 000 000 bushels sold out recently at 88 to 99 cents.
Boston beat New York 2 to 1 in 14 innings the first game. The second game postponed due to darkness. Philadelphia defeated Brooklyn 4 to 0. Cincinnati edged Pittsburgh 4 to 3. St Louis and Chicago postponed by rain.
