Pro-Life Life Chain Protest Draws Hundreds Across Maryland Roads
A few hundred demonstrators lined US 40 in multiple towns including Frederick Mount Airy Thurmont and Emmitsburg to protest abortion. Organizers Diane Ivins and others said the event aims to be pro life not anti abortion and hopes to influence thinking as participants estimate 2000 to 3000 cars pass the chain. Some drivers cheered while others shouted curses but the group continued with its vigil asserting life is valued. The Life Chain has occurred for at least a decade each October on the Sunday closest to the 61st day in the month.
