Frall Developers of Mount Airy withdrew its appeal of a zoning ruling that a parking lot expansion exceeded the approved plan. The meeting drew opponents and advised attendees to attend the Dec. 13 planning commission site plan hearing. Also approved was Tending Toddlers Ltd. to operate a day care at the Omega Center with capacity for 105 children.
Maryland State Police say a man wearing pantyhose over his head robbed the Myersville Sunoco on Myersville Road at 11:10 p.m. Wednesday, demanding cash from attendant Joseph L. Blackwell. The suspect is described as white, about 170 pounds and 3 feet 11 inches tall, wearing blue jeans and a blue coat. Station owner Eddie Embrey said the attendant worked alone with no customers present. TFC Gary Bachtell is investigating.

Gregory Brown aged 21 was sentenced to 20 years in the Department of Corrections by Circuit Court Judge Mary Ann Stepler with 10 years suspended and five years probation after release. He pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute cocaine and was linked to a major crack operation moving drugs from Washington DC to Frederick County with associate Katherine McKensie.
A Pennsylvania man, 22-year-old Joan David Milinovich of Waynesboro, faces three counts of manslaughter and related charges after a Nov. 10 hit and run on U S 15 near Angleberger Road. Madeline Hamblin, 65, of Baltimore, died in the crash involving Milinovich's Ford Maverick. Authorities say Milinovich fled the scene then was later arrested on prior DWI offenses. He remains in Franklin County Jail on a $5,000 bond with Frederick County warrants detainers.
The main Frederick library will open one hour later Monday through Saturday starting Jan 1. Frederick County Library Board cites higher activity with no staff increase and plans to reassess hours through Sept 1, 1990. The director hopes staff growth will allow extended hours later.
The Frederick News-Post corrects a previous Wednesday report naming Joshua Lee as Prentice Jon Bristow’s son. The infant is actually the son of the victim’s girlfriend Melanie L. Riffle, not Bristow.
