County and state clash over Frederick County population
Frederick County faces a 5 000 person discrepancy between its own 1975 projection of 100 000 and the Maryland Department of State Planning estimate of 95 000. Planning officials cite differing methodologies based on housing units versus employment as the cause, complicating federal and state program applications.
