A Frederick County study of the 1975-76 Board of Education payroll shows 96 employees earn $20,000 or more, most of them administrators. The top 88 are administrators, with Superintendent Dr. John L Carnochan at $35,000, while the highest paid teacher earns $20,299. Over half of 1,806 full-time workers make $10,000 or more, and 261 cafeteria staff add $635,608.

Thurmont man struck, dragged 180 feet in Baltimore incident
Carmelo Collins of Thurmont, age 39, was waiting outside the Greyhound terminal for his Italy visiting mother when a parked car on Centre Street sped away and dragged him 180 feet. He sustained massive internal injuries and multiple fractures and was listed in critical condition at Maryland General Hospital. Police identified the driver as William D. Carter.

Ralph Weedon dies in hit and run mishap in New Jersey
Ralph Alexander Weedon died September 2 from injuries after a hit and run incident in Bridgeton New Jersey. He disappeared August 30 during a bus trip to Wildwood with his wife Frances A Luby Weedon and friends. He was identified only after morgue photos appeared in the Afro American. He was born April 11 1913 in Sunnyside and was WWII veteran and Amvets Post 5 member. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery Bridgeton with a memorial service Friday at Hicks Funeral Home.
