New Jersey documents show minorities targeted in searches
State troopers stopped motorists in drug busts at high rates for minority drivers over more than a decade. Attorney General John J. Farmer Jr says no evidence of deliberate cover up, while Gov. Whitman cites end of racial profiling. Records show minority targeting dates back to 1990s to 1999, with officials aware of high minority stop rates and some cases approved at high levels.
