Driver faces new charges in Maryland chase case

Richard L Robey, 37, of no fixed address, faces first and second degree assault and felony malicious destruction of property after a high speed pursuit with Maryland State Police. Bail set at 65,000. he remains held without bail on earlier burglary and pursuit offenses. A preliminary hearing on burglary eluding rogue and vagabond theft is slated for next month.

Court upholds damage award in look alike drug case

The Supreme Court let stand a damage award to Christopher Scionti, a Burlington Central High School freshman in Kane County, who was expelled after a classmate handed him an envelope with a look alike drug that tested negative for cocaine. The Court rejected officials' claim they could expel a student for possessing a look alike drug without challenging witnesses or identifying them.

Man Admits Stealing Gear From Sears in Frederick

A Montgomery County man Carlos Romero Maragomez admitted to theft at Sears in Frederick, saying items were hidden in a store closet. Sensors and a digital phone valued over $500 were taken. Bail set at 750 after judge reduced it from 1500, with 10 percent allowed. interpreter noted he does not speak English.

Two jailed in attempted theft of vehicle

Frederick police stopped two Frederick residents Monday night as they tried to steal a car near the Court Street parking deck. Shane Grigsby age 27 and Carolyn Dean Elder age 20 of West South Street were taken into custody at 9 42 pm. by Officer Gene Alston and others. They face charges of attempted theft of a car tampering with a motor vehicle conspiracy and related counts. They were jailed awaiting bail hearings before a Frederick County District Court commissioner.

Judge raises bail for Brunswick man in disorderly conduct case

State's Attorney Jamie M. When he failed to quiet down after repeated requests, he was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace. While en route to Frederick County Central Books he spit on an officer and threatened him. Ms. Manchester said Mr. Twigg also faced second degree assault. District Court Judge Janice Ambrose increased Mr. Twigg's bail from 1500 to 5000.
