Two University of Michigan experiments launched from Wallops Island Virginia minutes apart measure upper atmosphere characteristics. A 70 pound payload launched at 1 16 p m by a Nike Apache rocket reached 103 miles. a 56 pound payload launched at 1 45 p m by a Nike C aiz balloon system rose to 81 miles. Balloons drifted and descended under radar tracking, with data return planned. The report shifts to a Middletown 4 H meeting noting officer roles and planned activities including a Christmas party and scrap drive.
