A 1959 Ford driven by Harold Lester Matthews of Mk Mills crashed into the north side of a bridge over Catoctin Creek on Route 340 near Steiner’s Hill at about 2 38 this morning. Three passengers were unharmed. Matthews faced a charge of reckless driving.

Farmer Cats Self Free Of Corn Picker
A 3 year old Oak Creek farmer, George Schubert, is hospitalized in Milwaukee after amputating his right thumb and partially severing the index finger when his hand caught in a corn picker. Beef Cargo Blocks Elevator At Plaza Hotel
Washington AP report says more than two tons of beef became stuck in a hotel elevator in the Iswank Dupont Plaza. San Francisco 49ers players and staff rode the lift after a Thanksgiving game. two players escaped via an hatch while the rest sang until a worker freed the door after about 20 minutes. Snowstorm Strikes East with Heavy Snowfalls

Two Minor Accidents Reported Over Thanksgiving Holiday
City police investigated two minor collisions over Thanksgiving. At East Church Street and Chapel Alley Eleanor Tyerva r of East Sixth Street struck 10 year old James E. Boyer as he crossed the intersection. Boyer was not injured after an examination at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Tyergar lacked a driver's license. A second crash on North Bentz Street involved Roy Wusz Jr.'s parked car being hit by Densil Hughes of Leesburg Virginia. Hughes admitted looking away and was charged with driving. Col Paul W. Mossburg investigated.
