Bid logic in a club and diamond slam in Amsterdam match
Oswald Jacoby analyzes a bridge hand from an international team match in Amsterdam. He contrasts South opening a strong hand to reach six spades and a heart lead and North's failure to effectively show a mighty diamond fit by jumping to three no trump. The piece discusses bid choices from four clubs to five diamonds and how these sequences reveal strength and fit.
