Carroll agencies seek avoidable cuts to elderly services
Representatives of seven Carroll County programs and one business serving the elderly met to share planned budget reductions and pool savings to prevent eliminating services. The county Bureau on Aging faces a 149000 cut next year, with 82000 hitting community services and about 67000 targeting nutrition programs. The group discussed transportation, meals, staffing losses, and potential site closures while exploring cooperation with CCARC and other partners to mitigate the impact on seniors.
