He studied at University of Maryland 1902 and Rock Hill College. He worked at University Hospital as clinical assistant and surgeon and ran his own hospital focusing on radium and X ray work. He served on Western Maryland Hospital Surgical staff and belonged to several medical societies. He was active in Democratic politics.

A year in the house of correction was suspended on $500 bail and two years of good behavior. The judge ordered two semiannual atonement periods during suspension.
