Sabillasville Troop 943 activities and birthday party events
Betty Wolfe supervised a Girl Scout badge workshop for Troop 943 Blue Ridge Summit with Sewing Hospitality Health Aid and Home Health and Safety tasks. Patrols named The Five Sunday Streakers Holly Hoggers and The Goody Goody Greens and The Saturday Sparklers organized. A weekend camp planned for Dec 6 7 at Happy Valley near Fairfield. Scouting highlights included Boy Scout Troop 270 encampment at Sinoquipe Scout Reservation with a coracle boat built from vines and canvas. A slumber party at Laura Wolfe’s Sabillasville home celebrated Miss Wolfe’s 11th birthday with gifts, pizza, cake and games. The Sabillasville Civic Association will elect officers at its Dec 8 meeting at 7:30 p.m. Also Miss Michele Owen celebrated her 11th birthday with a Weiner roast at the Owen home. TOM THUMB RACE recounts the Aug 25 1829 race where a steam engine and horse drawn car competed. the horse won after the engine broke down.
