Approval Of Financing Plans By Dixon Yates Power Group
The Dixon Yates group seeks SEC fast approval for 107 million dollar West Memphis Arkansas generating plant financing. They project a 36 month construction period and warn of a critical power shortage in the Memphis area by then. TVA lines would carry the plant’s output to replace energy drained from the TVA system by Atomic Energy Commission installations. Democrats oppose the project as trespassing on public power territory and cite a favorable contract for profits with no risk to investors. SEC hearing likely within two to four weeks.
