Fagan jury may begin deliberations Tuesday

Jurors in the murder trial of William Robert Fagan Sr are set to begin deliberations Tuesday after final instructions on first degree murder and handgun use. Judge Mary Ann Stepler will oversee the session with closing arguments from Assistant State’s Attorney Jerry F Barnes followed by the defense. The case is expected to be given to jurors by Tuesday afternoon.

Catoctin Zoo founder Richard Hahn to retire this year

Richard Hahn founder of the Catoctin Mountain Zoological Park says he plans to retire as executive director when a replacement is found or by the end of 1994. He and his wife Mary Anne built Jungle Land Snake Farm into the zoo, living on site in a cabin while raising their family and funding growth through tough times. The couple bought the park after Jungle Land closed following the owner's death and faced years of hardship, including periods of near poverty and hand raising many animals.

One Killed in I-70 Accident Near Md 17

Maryland State Police report a two vehicle crash on I-70 East near Md 17 early Monday morning leaving one dead and one injured. A pickup truck collided with a passenger car at about 6 10 a m. Names of those involved were not released at presstime.

Dhillon seeks 6th District seat with experience and vow

Neil Dhillon, a 31 year old former aide to Beverly Byron, aims to replace Roscoe Bartlett as Western Maryland's congressman. He says his bid rests on experience judgment and character and notes no Democrat credible enough to beat Bartlett or any Republican nominee. Dhillon has raised about 100000 for his run and expects another 25000 before his announcement. He left a deputy assistant secretary post at the Clinton DOT to run, identifying as the highest ranking Marylander in that administration and backing a national high speed rail network.
