Two Little Heroes Die Saving a Child at Rail Crossing
Kingsiton Blaugell aged 6 and Abraham Diamond aged 5 of Jamaica L A gave their lives trying to save a girl trapped on railway tracks at a grade crossing. A gate was lowered but several children crawled under. The girl walked toward the engine as warning calls failed. Blauvelt and Diamond pushed her to safety but were struck. Diamond lost an arm and both legs. Blauvelt fractured skull. They died at a hospital where Mrs Giest and child were reported injured in a separate incident.
