Man charged in Sykesville pizza delivery robbery

Baltimore County man John Maluski, 50, of Pikesville, was charged with armed robbery assault and weapons violations after robbing a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint in Sykesville noon. The robber fled in a vehicle and was stopped by a trooper near Md 26 and Md 97. He was turned over to Carroll County Central Booking pending appearance before a court commissioner.

Wreck sends car across highway in Frederick crash

Police said a 55 year old woman Janet Chrisapoulos of Gettysburg Pa escaped injury after her Geo Metro crossed the median and southbound lanes on U S 15 then rolled into a maintenance building at Crystal Park apartments near the U S 40 interchange. She walked away with no passengers in the car and no hospital treatment was required. The Ford van she clipped was driven by Andrew Himelfarb 47 of Potomac with his wife and two children also unhurt.

Fire calls reported during a 24hour period ending Monday

Fire dispatches logged across multiple locations including West Seventh Street outside gas leak and several woods fires on Coxey Brown Road Gambrill Park Road and Walser Drive. Structures burned at 8 Hill Street New Market and 1 Main Trail Thurmont Emmitsburg Ambulance attended.

Two-car crash claims life of Maryland woman

A two vehicle collision Monday on Md. 31 near Westminster left Margaret Clark Reifsnider Reifsnider of Union Bridge dead. The 10:25 a.m. crash involved her Mercury Topaz and a Ford Ranger driven by Mary Elseroad of Westminster. Reifsnider was airlifted to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where she died. Elseroad was treated and released at Carroll County General Hospital. Md. 31 was closed in both directions for about an hour.

Bed and Breakfast Destroyed by Fire Near Ski Liberty

A fire roared through the Old Barn Bed and Breakfast near Ski Liberty in Fairfield Pennsylvania on Monday night. Firefighters found heavy attic flames and a blaze so intense it melted siding on a house about 250 feet away. Wayne Powell of Vigilant Hose Co described the large structure as a converted bed and breakfast. Aid came from Vigilant Hose Co and Emmitsburg Ambulance Co alongside Pennsylvania fire departments.
