City and county buses merge under transit name logo
City and county bus systems will be consolidated this spring under the new name and logo transit. County transportation services chief says the logo unifies the two systems while officials warn against creating a new bureaucracy. All current employees will be retained with no salary cuts, and at most one new employee will be added.

Transit system consolidation delayed by local officials
Transi County planner Jim Gugel urged formal consolidation of City and County Transit systems effective Jan 1 but officials postponed to April to avoid rushing. They rejected hiring a new mechanic and expanding the county garage for buses. Mayor Paul Gordon and Commissioner Sue Ann Yingling warned against rushing facility or staff additions. The Transit logo design was described as future‑looking, with green branding to be applied to buses in May and on four new city buses arriving in early summer.
