Pierce write in bid for Carroll County seat falls short

Doris Pierce, a New Windsor Democrat, failed to unseat William V. Lauterbach in Carroll County Commissioner race. After canvassing, Pierce tallied 2,914 votes, far short of the roughly 6,000 she hoped for. She tied write-in hopes to broader support but acknowledged the demanding write-in process and county party support split.
