Janet Wiles from Maryland has been chosen as a youth officer and will serve as secretary when the 109th Annual National Grange Session opens in Columbus. She is active in Glade Valley Grange 417 and has held multiple Grange leadership roles. The Damascus 4 H Club and Mt Pleasant Junior Girls 4 H Club report ongoing activities and upcoming events including Achievement Night and community service projects.

Doug Stauffer announced five local men selected as judges for the Frederick Jaycee Outstanding Young Farmer program. Returning judges Allan Bryant and Paul Edwards are joined by Bernard Remsburg Paul Stull and Garvin Tankersley. William Baker will emcee the November 19 event at Erni's Italian Restaurant with dinner at 7 pm. reservations to 663-1690.
