NAHB predicts rebound after 2002 housing setback
The National Association of Home Builders reports its Housing Market Index fell to 48 in October 2001, the largest drop since 1985, with six month sales and traffic forecasts slipping. NAHB forecasts a downturn through first half of 2002 then stronger growth in the second half, citing fallout from the September 11 attacks and ongoing mortgage dynamics.
