Six inmates escape escapees trigger cross-state manhunt in WV

City townhouse owners press for city services in Frederick
After a 24 hour meeting with townhouse homeowners and developers Mayor Ronald N Young said the city now has a direction to follow in resolving the demands voiced by the six townhouse homeowners associations. He invited Tim Woodford to join the city planning commission as an alternate, saying his view would enrich the panel while Woodford vowed to continue voicing citizens concerns. Planners had recommended denying townhouses access to street lighting snow removal street maintenance and other services arguing such services would amount to extending private driveways and yards. Woodford noted townhouses contribute 227000 in taxes to the city surpassing other developments by 88000 due to higher density yet residents receive fewer services. He asked the city to assume ownership of streets sidewalks lights water and sewer mains traffic control and storm drains. Earlier developer Arthur S. Lazerow spoke at the Frederick Heights project.
