The Frederick County Board of Education, after advice from its attorney, voted to remove for now the birth control instruction for seventh graders from the Family Life and Human Development program. The board also approved the Man and Self Grade 7 segment while noting a past wording error placed Birth Control under Focus Area I instead of the required Focus Area III. The attorney cited the material as not appropriate for seventh grade and other officials acknowledged the oversight.
