Freedom Ride extends to Delaware on U S 40 test
CORE official Julius Hobson says a massive Freedom Ride will stretch from Baltimore to the Delaware Memorial Bridge and include Delaware 17 miles, with up to 1,000 riders testing restaurant service along the highway to force desegregation. Baltimore and Washington participants total about 500 to 600, plus groups from Virginia to Connecticut. The organizer calls the venture silly yet proceeds unless desegregation occurs.
