Assessment Hearings End and County Levy Hope
County Commissioners closed their three day session on a board of equalization with no material changes to assessable loans. They cited losses from buildings destroyed by fire, including barns from last summer. Few complaints were heard as Supervisor A Lamar Barrick and assessors Thomas R Lawler and Ernest C Speaks reported most assessments are about half current valuations. No estimate on future gains from new construction for the next tax levy was provided.
