Mother Freed Her Young Son From Fatal Dog Attack
A nine year old boy, Donald K Smith, is in critical condition at Frederick Memorial Hospital after being mauled by three dogs while fetching cakes for a sick brother. He suffered 125 lacerations. one dog was shot by a dog warden. The attack occurred near Mt Pleasant, tied to Gilmore Hamilton, owner of a tavern. Police report indicates the boy’s mother and another child located him on a farm lane, and she used rocks and physical effort to free him. The incident follows a prior attack on a man days earlier by the same dogs. The dog warden and Hamilton cooperated with investigators.

Motorist Charged After Accident At Md 355 Intersection
A Tjamsville area man was charged after a two car crash on Md 355 at the Araby Roads intersection. Jimmy Masser, 29, was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision after rear ending Harold Damuth, 29, of Frederick who was attempting a left turn onto Araby Road.
