Unsung electors pick president under the Electoral College

The article explains how the Electoral College works: voters choose electors who meet in state capitals on December 14 to cast ballots. Each state has electors equal to its senators and representatives, with winner take all in most states. A 270 electoral vote majority wins. if not, the House selects the president. The vice president is chosen by the Senate if no majority. Ballots are counted in state capitals, opened in the House, and tallied by four tellers. A large popular vote can still fail to win the Electoral College in a close race.
