Wants Old Sheets For Bed Pads
Mrs Dorsey F Shipley of 205 West Second Street, on Frederick County Cancer Society board, describes a home bound patients service making bed pads from discarded sheets. Usable sheet portions are sewn into rectangles open at one end, filled with torn newspaper for absorption, washable and reusable after drying. The project aims to supply pads faster than quilted versions but is hampered by a shortage of discarded sheeting.
