Washington column on justice in public reporting
A Washington column discusses two recent injustices from fragmentary dispatches. It argues that civil tax cases involving actor Groucho Marx and a plan to fly senators home were misrepresented, stressing legal rights and proper context. It also defends lawmakers travel spending as prudent for informed foreign policy and notes bipartisan respect for senators Stennis and McClellan.
