The plan details five uses including 135000 for a south Frederick day care center, 75000 for homeless centers, 125000 for Advocates for the Homeless church rehab, 80000 for Heartly House transitional housing, and 96000 for grant administration. It covers needs assessment, market analysis and city strategy, with HUD awaiting the plan before releasing funds.

Post office recycles junk mail into food containers

Frederick post office runs a recycling program since late April led by plant manager Charles Hall. Nearly 20 tons of cardboard white paper and undeliverable bulk mail have been recycled into paperboard for pizza and cake boxes by Simkins Industries in Catonsville. The post office receives minimal compensation for the recycled white paper as it addresses landfill space and its nature as a paper generating facility.
