Preferred Holders Win in Reading Coal and Iron Case
The reading company plan of dissolution was modified by the Supreme Court. Preferred holders and common stockholders were organized to share in distribution, with lower courts to hear further modifications. Organized baseball remains outside interstate commerce as the court sided with its non federal status. The Southern Pacific case also led to divestiture of stock in Central Pacific enterprises.
