Eight year old girl killed by slow moving car near Sandy Hook
Eight year old Earline Watkins of Sandy Hook died ten minutes after a crash when stepping into the road to avoid one vehicle and was struck by a second auto driven by Samuel Hoffmaster of Brunswick. The accident occurred between 9:15 and 9:30 on Saturday night near her home. Hoffmaster’s speed was cited as between 14 and 16 mph and no inquest or arrest followed. She leaves parents and one brother. funeral held at 2 PM with Rev. Snedegar and Rev. Gates officiating.

Savannah Ga May 29 William Byrd a Black man living near Brentuond in Warne county was struck down by a mob yesterday and burned. Burn’s car burnt on road near Harmony Grove
The Mash roadster of Samuel L. Burn, Jr. near Frederick, was destroyed by fire Sunday night about 11:30 o clock at Harmony Grove. A short circuit exploding the vacuum tank caused the blaze. The entire machine was wrecked with two front tires and an extra tire sat.
