Horse kicks man to death at Shiloh Ranch near Dickerson
Raymond V McConnell of Gaithersburg died after a horse kick to the throat at Shiloh Dude Ranch. Dr Robert J Furie performed an autopsy finding death by strangulation from a fractured and ruptured larynx. Minor Oil Plant Blaze Causes Limited Damage
A general alarm fire at the Neal and Kennedy Inc petroleum plant on East Patrick Street caused minor damage after about an hour of firefighting by four companies. Flames from the motor shed threatened nearby equipment including a tractor trailer and one parked car. another truck and a station wagon were damaged. Damage exceeded $2,000. Soldiers Charged For Pergola Fire at Hood College
Two Fort Detrick soldiers, Robert R. Correa age 23 and Ridley E. Durham age 21, were charged with destruction of property in the Hood College pergola blaze.
