Lattimore Targeted Again in McCarthy Documents
Senator McCarthy released documents alleging Lattimore intervened to keep two Chinese workers tied to the U S government from being fired for alleged Communist activity. Lattimore denied wrongdoing, accusing McCarthy of partial quoting and demanding evidence of his honesty. McCarthy also charged Jessup with Communist ties and claimed a lawyer aided Chavez in a Senate speech against Budenz.
