Gunther's Dry Beer Pioneered Maryland Taste in 1937
Maryland drinkers embraced Gunther's premium dry beer after its 1937 debut. The original light dry lager sparked wide imitation nationwide, prompting capacity expansion and rationing during peak demand. Despite rivals' later ‘‘dry’’ offers, Marylanders kept choosing Gunther's, leading to a new, much larger brewery build.
