The 107th annual Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Maryland met in Hagerstown May 24 27 with reports from Foreign Missions Home for the Aged Deaconess work and others. A merger of St Pauls English Lutheran and Epiphany Evangelical Lutheran churches in Washington was announced with current pastors to remain as co pastors. A licensure and ordination service was held led by Rev Dr J Edward Byers. A Ford roadster belonging to Karl Ramsburg Buckeystown was stolen during a communion service. The car and two other vehicles were linked to arrests in Frederick and Uniontown with Lonsinger taken to Uniontown for investigation.
