Maryland Delaware strawberry harvest extends statewide
A report from a Washington subcommittee notes appetite for new refuges to protect wetlands and hunting lands. State's Corn Planted Early
Maryland and Delaware farmers report rapid corn planting progress with two thirds of Maryland and three fourths of Delaware planted by late last week. Early growth shows eight inch corn on the lower Eastern Shore, though cold nights and dry soil hinder replanting and coloring. Hay, alfalfa and other crops face slow growth, with Hessian fly reports limited to select counties. Weekend rains and warmth expected to improve conditions this week.
