Police Court Cases Heard in Monday Night Session
Four hearings and 17 collateral forfeitures were disposed of by Magistrate Alten Bennett in the Monday Police Court. The heaviest penalty was a three month sentence to a homeless man dubbed Primacy Paul Johnson who praised his native Alabama and a local farmer employer. James Harding was found guilty of peace disturbance and fined $5. Walter Hallman received a suspended sentence with a $3 fined after a drunk charge. Roy Luther Rice forfeited collateral of 101.45 for speeding over 70 mph. Bowyer B. Fout Jr. was guilty of exceeding 30 mph and fined 2.50 plus costs. For corporation offenses collateral and costs included multiple individuals with small sums. Eugene Sponseller faces later hearing on indecent exposure and assault charges.
