School Board Seeks Funds From Vehicle Fees in Frederick County
Frederick County officials met with county commissioners to request an allocation for school purposes from passenger car and motorcycle license fees under a 1957 act. No decision was made as questions arose whether the sum is included in the general school levy. The attorney general had ruled that fees paid to towns must be deducted first, before school payments. Superintendent Eugene W. Pru said the Department of Education believes all county systems are strained, noting unusual expenses and a need to operate with limited funds.
