Senate seeks prosecutions against Standard Oil officers
Washington May 24 Information on steps toward criminal prosecutions of Standard Oil officers was demanded by the Senate in a resolution offered by Senator Pomerene. The measure names John D Rockefeller William Rockefeller Henry H Rogers Henry M Flagier John D Archbold Oliver H Payne and Charles M Pratt amid claims the supreme court ruled the corporation illegal and its officers guilty of restraint of trade. The resolution asks the attorney general to report any begun or pending prosecutions under the Sherman act against Standard Oil Company of New Jersey or related defendants.

Kidnappers Sentenced for Burglary in New Mexico
In Las Vegas New Mexico on May 24 J C Roberts announced the first sentence for Willie and Joe Wiegins the confessed child abductors of Hille Walda Rogers. Rogers received five to twelve years in the penitentiary and Wiggins seven to twelve. Since no kidnapping statute existed, they were charged with burglary for breaking into a base to steal the child. Also farmers oppose reciprocity as the Norman Institute spring meeting opens and a resolution against the Canadian reciprocity bill is adopted by the state board of agriculture.
