Miracle On South Street Legacy Of Jeanne Bussard Workshop
The Jeanne Bussard Training Workshop in Frederick City grew from a family tragedy into a major charity. Mr and Mrs Bussard opened the workshop on South Street after their daughter Jeanne died in 1957 at age 21 from uremic poisoning linked to spinal meningitis and deafness. The center now trains and employs hundreds of retarded adults, guided by director Mrs Helen Nussear, and symbolizes the family’s devotion.
