Dore Schary shifts from executive to director with Act One
Dore Schary, former head of MGM and RKO, becomes a full fledged film director with Act One based on Moss Hart’s autobiography starring Jason Robards Jr. and George Hamilton. He recalls producing 24 B pictures in eight months and emphasizes patience over temper in steering Hollywood through fear and independence. The piece also notes Homemakers Club meetings in Keysville detailing flower arranging demonstrations and 4H scholarships.
