No Blank Check On Asian Fund
Senate Foreign Relations Committee likely will approve the President's foreign aid package with general limitations on a proposed 200 million dollar Asian fund. Chairman George said the panel may strike a civil service holdover provision and will weigh possible minor reductions. He noted limited knowledge of how the funds would be used and questioned a regional pool approach. The committee may question Hollister about heading the program after July 3, though George sees no need to summon him now.
