New Market Students Paddle Potomac River Study
New Market Middle School eighth graders joined two Chesapeake Bay Foundation biologists for a river field trip along the Potomac from Brunswick to Point of Rocks. They assessed water quality, sampled insects, and examined land use impacts. The Potomac earned an A minus while Catoctin Creek showed heavy silt and erosion from nearby development.
