Court Bars Hagerstown Tax Suits
The Maryland Tax Court ruled that the Department of Assessments and Taxation cannot recoup extra personal property taxes for 1960 62 from Victor Products Corp of Hagerstown despite claims of inaccurate reports. The decision, called a blow to tax administrators by Albert Ward, held that once taxes are paid on filed reports no second assessment can occur even if the company filed incomplete figures.
