Terracing Two Middletown Farms Delayed By Crops

Terracing of two Middletown Valley farms by CCC workers from the Boonsboro camp has progressed only as far as crops allow and will likely be finished in fall. The Coblentz and Beachley properties on the mountain slope near Braddock Heights and along the Middletown Burkillsville highway are part of soil conservation efforts involving strip cropping and government seed. Work is directed by John Hull with about 55 acres on the Coblentz land terraced and Beachley’s 140-acre farm awaiting full development after harvest.
