David Roths, former president of the Federal Bank, was found guilty of grand larceny in the first degree for inducing deposits while insolvent. He faces up to 10 years. remanded until Monday for sentence. Poisoned children and mother at Beaver. Mrs Boyer, 40, of Monaca attempted to end life and harm her children by poison. doctors fear death for her, children likely recover. The British steamer Turret Bay laden with coal sank off St. Pauls Island near Cape North after striking rocks in dense fog. Of 22 crew members, only nine were saved. The wreck occurred about 8:30 in the morning as heavy seas churned, with the vessel sinking within 20 minutes. Fourteen were rescued from wreckage, but five died before reaching shore.

On May 21 police under Police Commissioner McAdoo raided 22 pool rooms and pool room exchanges in New York. They used axes and crowbars to force entry, arrested 70, and confiscated telephones, instruments, books, and racing charts. One raid targeted the Edison building with 14 men and 34 telephones.
Lew Dockstader the minstrel turned over to police the moving picture films used in a Washington Capitol grounds camera scene. The undeveloped reels show a man in makeup resembling Roosevelt extending aid to a negro. Dockstader said he sought them for a new monologue and denied impersonating Booker T. Washington.

Albany police linked a sensational raid to the De Peyster Livingston circle. Thomas King and two Hudson men were arrested after a large jewelry haul valued at thousands was found on King and in the De Peyster residence. Police identified many items with family initials and noted pawnshop recoveries.
